Irony

ANLFRM-EGCFXC

Why might it be considered ironic that the following passage is spoken by a pig?

Man is the only creature that consumes without producing. He does not give milk, he does not lay eggs, he is too weak to pull the plough, he cannot run fast enough to catch rabbits. Yet he is lord of all the animals.

A

It is ironic because pigs, through all the brainwork they do on the farm, produce far more than humans.

B

It is ironic because the speaker does not know how soon the rebellion will occur, but the readers do.

C

It is ironic because pigs give their lives, literally everything, to their human masters.

D

It is ironic because after the rebellion the pigs become the ones who take without creating anything.

E

It isn't ironic - this is precisely what you would expect a pig to say.
