The Naming of New York City

APHUG-ZKX34L

New York, New York. So cool, they named it twice! Well, of course it is New York City inside New York State, but the naming process was an important geographical event. We can call New York City a formal region on a local scale.

How did it become a formal region? Well, the government in charge of the area at the time decided to name it. At that point it became a formal region.
