Hotel Stays and Marginal Distribution

Do guests from out of state tend to stay at a hotel longer? The Hotel Association in a certain state decided to investigate.

A random sample of hotel stays from various hotels in the state was selected, and for each stay the Hotel Association recorded whether the guest was a resident of the state, a resident of a neighboring state, or a resident of a distant state. They also recorded whether the guest stayed for a single night or for multiple nights. The results are shown in the table below.
