Shotgun Sequencing a Bacterial Genome

You have isolated two strains of the bacteria Clostridium tetani (C.tetani), the causative agent for tetanus, from different soil samples and have found that these strains grow at different rates.

In order to identify mutations that might explain these growth differences, you want to use shotgun cloning to generate genomic libraries of these two different strains. The complete genome of C. tetani spans approximately 2800 kbp.
