Antony's Flaw

JLSCSR-R22JJ1

What does Brutus mean when he says,

"And for Mark Antony, think not of him;
For he can do no more than Caesar's arm
when Caesar's head is off"? (2.1.188-189)

A

Antony will automatically assume the responsibilities of ruling Rome because he considers himself to be Caesar's right-hand man.

B

Antony is someone we need not fear; he will be a weak ruler when Caesar is gone.

C

Antony is only as strong as Caesar, and without Caesar there to guide him, he will not pose a threat.

D

Antony is a good man; we shall be lucky to have him as our ruler once Caesar is gone.

E

Antony has no ambition and will never be competition in taking the power away from Caesar.
