How does Janie view the way Hezekiah co-opts Joe's mannerisms?
It makes her fearful of Hezekiah, as she was at times fearful of Joe.
It disgusts her because she thought better of Hezekiah than for him to take up the mannerisms of someone so despised by her.
She is amused by it because he means no harm, and it also makes some things, like collecting rent, easier for her.
It causes her to remember happier times with Joe, and she begins to fall in love with Hezekiah, even though he is much younger than she is.
Hezekiah is acting this way to get Janie's attention but she doesn't notice it because she is too distracted by other issues.
