Suppose two traveling waves are moving through a coordinate system in the same direction. The first wave has an amplitude of 4 m, a wavelength of 7 m, and is traveling at 26 m/s. The second wave has an amplitude of 4 m, a wavelength of 5 m, and is traveling at 12 m/s. At the origin (x=0), at time t=0, both waves are at equilibrium (see figure).
