The doom reserved for enemies marches on the ones we love the most.

What does Antigone mean?

Her brothers, captured by the invading Argive army, are to be burned alive at sunrise in front of the walls of the city.

Her brother, Polynices, is to remain unburied on the former field of battle, rotting in front of the walls of the city.

Like the widows of the Argive soldiers, Haemon is doomed to loneliness upon Antigone's death.

Now that both her brothers, her father, and her mother are dead, Antigone laments the lonesomeness and isolation her sister, Ismene, will be doomed to endure once Antigone is dead.

Because of Zeus' curse on her family line, Haemon and Ismene are doomed.
