Why is documentation an important part of an API or library?

Without documentation, it would be impossible to tell who wrote each procedure in the library.

Since most programmers didn’t help write the library, documentation is necessary to explain how to use the library's procedures.

Documentation is necessary to keep track of who has used each procedure, where it was used, and how it was used.

None of these is true.
