The major processes of energy production include glycolysis, the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex, and the Krebs cycle. Each of these occur in a distinct location within the cell. For example, glycolysis occurs in the cytosol of the cell. Mitochondria are the location for both the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex, and the Krebs cycle.
