Selectins, chemokines, and integrins are responsible for recruitment of lymphocytes into lymph nodes through the walls of high endothelial venules (HEV) in a process called diapedesis. Each plays a specific role during this process.

What are their specific roles?

A

Selectins are involved in rolling of lymphocytes. Chemokines are involved in activation of integrins. Integrins are involved in stable adhesion of lymphocytes to HEV.

B

Selectins are involved in stable adhesion of lymphocytes to HEV. Chemokines are involved in activation of integrins. Integrins are involved in rolling of lymphocytes.

C

Integrins are involved in stable adhesion of lymphocytes to HEV. Chemokines are involved in activation of selectins. Selectins are involved in rolling of lymphocytes.

D

Integrins are involved in rolling of lymphocytes. Chemokines are involved in activation of selectins. Selectins are involved stable adhesion of lymphocytes to HEV.
