Stoop, Romans, stoop,
And let us bathe our hands in Caesar's blood

What is the reasoning behind Brutus' statement above?


Brutus says this in hopes that the citizens of Rome will realize that they only killed Caesar for the good of Rome and not for personal gain.


Brutus is making the statement in hopes that the rest of the conspirators will look like they are the ones to blame for Caesar's death.


Brutus wants to take responsibility for his actions because he views them as the right and necessary thing he had to do to save Rome from a tyrant.
