Iago tells Othello

Oh, beware my lord of jealousy
It is the green-eyed monster, which doth mock
The meat it feeds on (3.3.178-180).

Why is this quote ironic?


It is too late for this warning. Othello is already beginning to feel jealous.


Iago is mocking Othello's jealousy.


Iago has exhibited signs of jealousy several times thus far in the play.


Othello is not listening and this advice could prevent a lot of tragedy.


Othello is jealous of Iago, the character who is advising him.
