Follow the link to read the last 500 words of the short story “Cathedral” by Raymond Carver. CTRL + F the following phrase “I drew spires” and read until “It’s really something”.

The narrator states, “I drew spires. Crazy.” Two lines later the man who is blind says, “Never thought anything like this could happen in your lifetime, did you, bub?” In the final line, the narrator writes “It’s really something.”

What can we infer is so “crazy” to the narrator that is “really something.”
