Was the Natives' greatest victory over the United States Army, and pretty much their last.


Was the site of a terrible massacre of Native women, children and elders.


Occurred in the Southwest.


Led to the resignation of General William T. Sherman due to frustrations over the course of the war.


Led to the cessation of fighting on the Great Plains, as the Natives surrendered as a result of this battle and went to live on the reservations.
