Albert knows Georgia

Over the years, our Content team has developed a deep expertise in Georgia's academic standards, graduation requirements, and assessments. We've summarized the considerations that have guided our product development below.

Georgia schools follow the Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) for ELA and Science, alongside newly updated, state-specific K–12 Math standards.

To measure student success, the state uses the Georgia Milestones system: End-of-Grade (EOG) tests for Grades 3–8, and End-of-Course (EOC) exams for high schoolers in core subjects like Algebra, Biology, U.S. History, and Literature.

Grades 3–8 Assessments
  • ELA & Math: Grades 3–8 (Georgia Milestones EOG).

  • Science: Grades 5 and 8 (Georgia Milestones EOG Science).

  • Social Studies: Grades 5 and 8 (Georgia Milestones EOG Social Studies).

College & Career Readiness
  • Georgia Milestones EOC: Required in 4 subjects.

  • SAT® & ACT®: Widely used.

  • AP® & IB: Extensive offerings statewide.

Graduation Overview

Georgia requires 23 credits for graduation, including 4 ELA, 4 Math, 4 Science, 3 Social Studies, 3 CTAE/World Language/Fine Arts, 1 PE/Health, and 4 Electives.
