Over the years, our Content team has developed a deep expertise in Virginia's academic standards, graduation requirements, and assessments. We've summarized the considerations that have guided our product development below.
Virginia uses the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL), developed independently of Common Core. SOL standards cover ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies with state-specific expectations at every grade level.
Virginia SOL tests are administered in Grades 3–8 and as EOC exams in high school. Verified credits from SOL testing are required for both Standard and Advanced Studies Diplomas.
ELA: Grades 3–8 (Virginia SOL Reading & Writing).
Math: Grades 3–8 (Virginia SOL Math).
Science: Grades 5 and 8 (Virginia SOL Science).
History: Grades 3, 6, 7, 8 (Virginia SOL History & Social Science).

I use Albert for homework, problem sets, test remediation, and review. It has enabled me to dive deep into what topics the students understand well and what they need more help with. The standards alignment makes planning and reteaching so much easier.
As a new APUSH teacher I was unsure about my ability to prepare my students for the specifics of the AP® exam. I found Albert and decided to pilot the program at my school.
